Forde Park Care: Nursing and Retirement Homes

Personal Care Retirement Home
Donkey entertains at Forde Park

Snowy, a donkey owned by the Donkey Sanctuary visitied residents at Forde Park Nusring Home this morning. He was brought into the nursing home by two handflers from the trust who accompanied him.

Snowy was given full access to the nursing home (on the strict understanding he was not to leave any signs of his visit) and visited relatives in the lounge hallways and even bedrooms.

Children from the neighbouring day nursery (Ark in the Park) were also invited over to meet snowy.snowy_arrives_at_forde_park.jpg

Maureen, our full time activities co-ordinator beleives that living in a nursing home should not isolate our residents from the outside world. Residents are encouraged to get out when they can and enjoy 'a bit of fresh air'. For residents who find it difficult to get outside Maureen brings the outdoors in to them.

We are pleased to report that snowy was extremely well behaved on his visit!
